Career Counseling
- Individual meetings to develop comprehensive academic and career plans
- Workshops on topics such as resume writing, interviewing, job search strategies, choosing a major, dining etiquette, and graduate school
- Special career programs with alumni and local companies representing a variety of career fields
- Assessments on interests, personality, values, and skills and how that relates to future planning
- Resume and cover letter review
- Counseling for students and alumni who are career changers or who need to update their resume
- Assistance in utilizing technology to secure valuable career information
Placement Assistance
- S.O.A.R. On-line, is a 24-hour, virtual job board. Students can post their resumes for counselor critique and/or employer review, apply for the many job opportunities posted daily, and stay on-top of all career events.
- The Career Resource Library includes several company directories, both locally and nationally to assist students with placement. There are also books on such topics as how to get into graduate school, how to write an entry-level resume, and an extensive listing of internships and other service learning opportunities.
- A comprehensive web site, with resume writing resources and World Wide Web links to a variety of job search engines and internship resources.
