We’re delighted to report that the Post University’s Alumni Relations Office is back!  We’re looking forward to hearing what’s happening in your lives, and to sharing news about what’s happening at Post University. So, welcome to the first edition of Post University’s News for Alumni. In this bi-monthly update, we will share information on new programs, career services opportunities, athletics, and much more. For example, did you know that Post University …

  • Now has nearly 4,000 students enrolled on its main campus in Waterbury and through Post University Online
  • Renovated the dining hall, added campus-wide wireless access and new computer labs, and repaved the sidewalks on the Waterbury campus see photos here
  • Was the first university to offer active duty military personnel a way to earn a college degree with no out-of-pocket expenses, is a proud participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, and now offers an ROTC program on its main campus
  • Was voted 2009 “Best of Waterbury” by the U.S. Commerce Association
  • Was ranked in the top 20 nationally for the third year in a row by the OEDB (Online Education Database)
  • Is ranked in the 2009 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges edition
  • Has a Men’s Golf Team that has won FOUR consecutive CACC championships

Alumni Directory Coming Soon
As you may know, Post University is working with Harris Direct to create a comprehensive Alumni Directory that includes information on Alumni going all the way back to 1912. The directory will be ready and arriving on doorsteps in December for those alumni who ordered a copy!


Post University Online Post University has recently added four new degree programs including: online MBA, online Master of Education, B.S in Sport Management and B.S. in Child Studies. The online MBA degree program has even won a 2009 Silver Level Innovation Prize from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership.


Maria Bruscino Sanchez Maria Bruscino Sanchez
Before and after graduating from Post University in 1986 with a B.S. in Marketing, Maria Bruscino Sanchez pursued her passion for baking. Today, she’s not only a cookbook author, but a very successful business owner. Since 1990, Sweet Maria’s Bakery in Waterbury, Connecticut has been home to award-winning and mouth-watering cakes and cookies. Maria employs a number of year-round employees and her business occupies a 4,000 square foot space in the same town where she grew up.

Dr. Terry Baney
As a member of the Post University faculty for 38 years, Dr. Terry Baney is still capturing the imaginations of students every day. His engaging teaching style has set him apart as a professor students remember long after they graduate. Currently, Dr. Baney is president of the Faculty Senate and teaches history, international relations, and government courses both on campus and online.

Post University Launches Career Post
Career Post is a dynamic, robust on-line portal connecting Post University students and alumni with employer profiles and contact information, job and internship postings, work study listings, professional portfolio management, and a variety of career resources.

4th Annual Baseball Alumni Game Recap
The 4th annual Alumni game finally found a nice day after being rescheduled twice due to poor weather. Several alums, family, and friends came back to attend the annual game and barbeque. Over 60 people attended the event to share stories, laughs, and memories of their time here as a part of the Post University Baseball family.

Partners in Education
Post University's Partners in Education Program is growing by leaps and bounds.  In recent weeks, the following companies have officially joined the program to provide their employees with a flexible, convenient and affordable way to earn a quality degree:  APT Foundation, TD Bank, Belimo, Ability Beyond Disability and FirstLight Power Resources.

Post University Online Expands
In April, Post University Online opened a new call center to respond to a substantial increase in demand for high quality accelerated degree programs. Post University Alum Mayor Michael Jarjura, along with Congressman Chris Murphy, joined in the celebration and news conference, which was covered by several Waterbury-area media outlets. Post University Online continues to meet the growing need for flexible, convenient higher education options for adult learners at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It also is one of the only Waterbury-based businesses that is hiring during these tough economic times!
