Top Placing for Post University’s IHSA Equestrian Team

Waterbury: Last Saturday, March 1st the Post Equestrian Team once again won the High Point Team ribbon at the show hosted by Connecticut College, and held at Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Gales Ferry, CT. The sea air must be a lucky charm, as the team won this prestigious award last semester at the same show! Considering that Post is one of the smallest teams out of eleven in our region, this was a really great result. To win they had to gain more points than other, larger, teams such as Brown and UCONN. The whole team contributed to this success by pinning well in each division - so congratulations to all of them and Equestrian Team Coach, Heather Johnson, for all the hard work which has led to the great successes this year.

In fact, this year has been the most successful in our history - the team also won Reserve High Point Team at the Wesleyan Show the week before. In addition there are at least six riders who are already qualified for Regionals on March 29 – guess where? Yes, at Mystic Valley Hunt Club, so we hope it continues to be our lucky venue.
