Post University is currently accepting applications for the role of the Faculty Academic Program Manager(APM) for Psychology.

JOB SUMMARY:

Post University is seeking an Academic Program Manager (APM) to manage and grow the undergraduate Psychology program. The individual will be required to perform three essential University functions: Course development, teaching, and all aspects of program management in addition to other responsibilities as outlined by the University. The individual will report directly to the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Dean of the School of Public Service.

  • Teach 8 courses per academic year or as otherwise determined by the Dean of the School of Public Service.
  • Participate in at least two university committees or as otherwise determined by the Dean of the School of Public Service.
  • Work with a team of APMs and university staff to maintain and develop the PSY program and curricula. Continuously searches for new and innovative ways to improve the quality of the Program and University Academic Affairs.
  • Manages the faculty pool for the Psychology program, including but not limited to screening, hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and monitoring of all Assistant Program Managers and Associate Faculty related to the program to ensure quality delivery of all courses.
  • Plans, administers, analyzes, monitors, evaluates and assists with the development and maintenance of a Program's activities and ensures compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Prepares reports required by State and Federal government and regulatory agencies.
  • Serves as a member of the University's administrative team and carries oversight responsibility for curriculum accuracy and integrity, as well as close relationship with advising, student life, and student retention.
  • Provides financial oversight and reviews budgets specifically related to the Program.
  • Supplies the supporting offices with necessary information vital for Program maintenance and development such as marketing, admissions, financial aid, and the office of student information and records.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology or a related field.  Master’s level candidates who are actively enrolled in Doctoral programs will be considered.
  • At least five years of experience working in the Psychology field.  At least five years of research and/or clinical experience in Psychology preferred.
  • Experience teaching in the traditional classroom and online using Blackboard or similar programs.
  • The ability to perform scholarly activities appropriate for an academic institution.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, well organized and a team player in a fast paced work environment.
  • Experience using assessments to improve teaching or programs is a plus; Creative and interested in providing an outstanding learning experience for students; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are required.
