ASSOCIATE FACULTY – English

Post University is currently accepting applications for the role of Associate Faculty in English, both online and on main campus.

JOB SUMMARY:

Candidates for the position of Associate Faculty (adjunct instructor position) in English (ENG 110 & 120) would join a strong team of dedicated professionals at Post University. The Associate Faculty would be required to:

  • Teach 8 week courses using Blackboard either on our Waterbury, CT campus in a blended form, online, or a 15 week course on main campus.
  • Meet all departmental standards and requirements as outline by the Academic Program Managers of English.
  • Respond to student questions in a professional manner within 24-48 hours.
  • Facilitate discussion boards using interactive media as well as promote critical thinking.
  • Grade assignments with substantial feedback in a timely manner, within 5 days for online courses and 10 days for main campus.
  • Understand and be able to proficiently use APA style as well as be able to provide students with feedback on ways to improve their use of this citation style.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • PhD in English or MFA in Writing preferred. M.A. in English or Education required.
  • Previous adjunct teaching experience using Blackboard or other online learning management systems required.
  • Ability to meet departmental standards as mentioned in the job summary as well as be open to feedback.
  • Ability to use Blackboard as well as complete a required training.
