We’re looking for a business analyst to oversee the day-to-day operation of Blackboard, our learning management system. Blackboard is at the heart of everything we do. This position will work directly with a programmer/analyst, the Instructional Design team and representatives across the University on a variety of responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.


  • Oversee the planning, testing and implementation of updates to Blackboard
  • Manage and execute project plans and prepare status reports
  • Analyzes, plans and implements process improvement needs
  • Develops metrics that provide data for process management and indicators for future improvement
  • Generates formal communication about implementation status
  • Manage relationship between the Information Technology and Instructional Design teams
  • Manage relationship with help desk provider
  • Oversee the completion of student and staff submitted Blackboard tickets
  • Develop and update documentation and self-help FAQ
  • Identify areas of potential business risk and communicate these to the CIO and key business leaders


You should have 5-10 years of experience as a business analyst with 5-10 years experience as a business analyst who has also managed projects.  Excellent organization and communication skills are required.  Also experience with the following:

  • Blackboard or any other equivalent Learning Management System
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Microsoft Project
  • Oracle CRM On Demand is  plus
  • Must possess strong analytical and technical skills and be detail oriented
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement assigned responsibilities and to work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and provide exemplary customer service along with a professional demeanor and a positive attitude
