Post University, a great place to start your future
In 1976, Post University initiated a division of accelerated degree programs aimed at helping Vietnam veterans return to a productive working life. The program was specifically designed to combine the returning vets' life and work experiences with an education that would help them "retool" their skills and find employment. Over time, Post University saw that the programs it offered Vietnam vets also fit the educational needs of many working adults looking to pursue or resume a college education. At that point, the university began offering accelerated degree programs to all qualified adult students returning to their studies.
In the late 1980s, the program gained traction as what was then Post Junior College became Post College. The real boost came when Post began offering programs to companies on their sites. Courses were offered at Johnson & Johnson, Pratt & Whitney, Cigna, and The Hartford, to name a few. Post University then established sites in high schools in Danbury, Meriden, West Hartford, and Southington, Connecticut.
In 1996, Post University began offering accelerated degree programs on the Internet. The online program grew rapidly, and Post University became the first college in Connecticut and New England to offer certified and accredited accelerated degree programs fully online. Post University is now the largest provider of completely online education in Connecticut.
Post University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and College, Inc., through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. We are licensed by the State of Connecticut to grant associates, baccalaureate and master's degrees in areas including business, criminal justice, information technology, legal studies, sport management, and social services, among others.
