Ron’s teaching philosophy has evolved over the past thirty years, from being a traditional classroom teacher to a dedicated online teacher. At the heart of his teaching philosophy is the student. Ron truly believes in a student centered approach to teaching and learning. Throughout his academic career, he has constantly evaluated his classroom performance, improving teaching and learning using student assessments and peer reviews. Ron believes that teaching requires being up to date on educational practice and continuously revising lesson plans and lectures. In addition, he believes educators need to seek out advice and discuss courses with peers, refreshing their knowledge and skills. Teachers have a duty to their profession, to their students, and to themselves. Fulfilling this duty requires that the teacher never stop learning, continues to evaluate performance, and leads by example, inside and outside of the classroom.
Ron is actively involved with the Episcopal Church.
