Dr. Spielman has over 12 years of teaching experience at the community college, state college, and private university level. A licensed psychologist, she has taught over 140 courses.
As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Spielman has over 20 year of experience. She has worked with a range of populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families,in outpatient clinics, schools, juvenile detention facilities, and an adult jail. She has treated and evaluated children who were sexually or physically abused, children who have difficulty in school, children in state care, and depressed adults. She also has completed numerous court-ordered psychological evaluations and has testified as an expert witness in both Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Spielman is passionate about engaging students. Students come with a lifetime of experiences and specific learning styles, and Dr. Spielman fosters her students to make connections with her, the material, their classmates, the college, and the greater community. By bringing to the classroom her years of clinical experience and teaching expertise, Dr. Spielman inspires her students.
Dr. Spielman lives in Connecticut with her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs. In her free time, she loves to ride her bicycle on country roads, swim, and read.
