Biography

Joe Rainone has been a sworn law enforcement officer for over 18 years.  He has testified in dozens of homicide and other felony prosecutions and has been recognized as a court qualified expert in the field of firearm and toolmark examination.  Joe is a graduate of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives National Firearms Examiners Academy as well as the Connecticut Police Academy.  He has a Masters degree in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven.  During his law enforcement career he has been assigned as a patrol officer, housing officer, crime scene technician, forensic laboratory supervisor, and patrol shift commander.  He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant at the Waterbury, Connecticut Police Department.
