Academic Background:
Teaching Background:
Mary Orcutt began teaching at Post University in 2002, teaching Law, Criminal Justice, Business, and Management courses.
Teaching Philosophy:
Professor Orcutt’s teaching philosophy is founded on her practical experience in law, business, and management. Her classes are designed to not only teach legal or business concepts but also teach students how to apply these concepts to their personal and professional lives. Employing the Socratic Method, her students are encouraged to lead and participate in relevant, and often lively, classroom discussions that integrate learning objectives with real life experiences and the news of the day. Professor Orcutt’s goal is to give students the tools to learn and succeed.
Professional Background:
For more than 16 years Mary Orcutt has been employed as Chief Financial Officer and/or Chief Operating Officer for several for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in Connecticut. Most recently she is the Chief Financial Officer for The National Organization for Rare Disorders in Danbury, CT.
