“My preferred approach to students is in line with the studies and teaching of Maria Montessori. What I took from studying and practicing Montessori is a deep respect for children and for learning. I believe that learning is not confined to a classroom, but is a lifelong process that begins at birth and continues throughout one’s life. I believe that students are internally motivated to learn and, given a safe environment and the right tools and support, will learn. My ideal curriculum is one which sees school as an extension of life and which holds helping students become lifelong learners and productive citizens as primary goals.”
Herrera enjoys photography and scuba diving.
