Nicholas Misenti brings 27 years of higher education teaching experience to Post University. His previous positions include Professor of Business Law and Accounting at Capital Community College, Adjunct Instructor of Undergraduate Business Law and MBA Accounting at the University of Connecticut School of Business, and Adjunct Instructor of Accounting at the University of Hartford.
Teaching Philosophy:
Misenti believes teaching is based on a student-centered vision, with the goal being to further the academic and career interest of each individual student. Curriculum and delivery should be relevant and cutting-edge, and include integration of online resources into the classroom. Online courses should replicate the classroom so that the professor’s approach and personality is apparent to students and vice versa.

Misenti has 27 years or professional legal experience, including representation of closely-held corporations and individuals in the areas of business planning, commercial law, contract law, income tax compliance and planning, forensic accounting, estates & trusts, and related litigation through his firm, The Law Offices of Nicholas C. Misenti. His prior legal and accounting experience includes serving as a Primary attorney with The Briggs Law Firm, P.C., in charge of business planning, commercial law, and estate planning; Attorney with the Estate Planning Unit of Gaffney, Pease, and DiFabio, emphasizing estate planning for high net worth clients with; CPA and legal advisor with the Tax Department of Ernst and Whitney, one of the original “Big 8” CPA firms, where he prepared financial statements with compilation/review reports, and income tax returns for mid size corporations and partnerships, and represented companies before the IRS and Connecticut Department of Revenue Services, and; Legal Intern with the Office of the Connecticut Attorney General’s Tax Unit, where he researched and wrote briefs for appellate tax cases.
Misenti is an Attorney at Law, and was admitted to practice before both the Connecticut courts (CT Juris No. 102361) and the federal courts (Federal Bar No. ct26270). He is also a Certified Public Accountant (Connecticut Certificate No. 5289).
Misenti is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, American Bar Association, Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and American Society of Certified Public Accountants.
