Accelerated Degree Programs
At Post University, we have a team of financial aid experts who can help you through the financial aid process. Here are some guidelines to help you get started.
In order for students to receive financial aid, they must be accepted for admission to Post University. Those who have attended other colleges or universities will need to request an official copy of their academic transcript(s) be sent to the Post University Office of Admissions before they can become a matriculated student.
Undergraduate students are eligible for financial aid if they take a minimum of six credits during each period of enrollment. A period of enrollment is 16 weeks long and consists of two consecutive 8-week modules. Students should register in advance for the classes they will take throughout the entire period of enrollment to avoid any revisions to their financial aid package resulting from enrollment status changes.
All financial aid documentation must be completed at least one week prior to the start of a module to ensure financial aid can be disbursed and avoid any problem obtaining your books using a book voucher.
Once you submit your admission application, your Tuition Planner will help you through the financial aid process.
The first thing you need to do to get the financial aid process started is complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines your eligibility for Federal grant and loan programs.
Types of aid determined by your FAFSA include:
To complete the FAFSA and secure financial aid, follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the FAFSA website at the following link: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and click on the “start here” button.
Note - If you have not yet applied for a FAFSA PIN, you will need to apply for one. A PIN is not required to begin the application, but you will need one to submit your information once your application is complete. You will have the opportunity to apply for a PIN at various stages throughout the process.
To get started on the application, you will be asked to enter your name, social security number and date of birth. Once you have verified this information, you will be prompted to enter the year in which you will attend college. Since Post University Accelerated Degree Program students can start at the beginning of any 8-week module, please choose the year that best falls between the range of dates in which you will be taking classes.
Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 1.800.345.2562, or email Financial Aid PostADPFinancialAid@post.edu for help on filling out your FAFSA form.
Step 2: Completing the FAFSA Information
The FAFSA site provides you with instructions for completing the FAFSA application. It also provides a list of the documents you will need and information on the estimated amount of time it will take to complete the process.
In order to ease the process of completing the FAFSA, you will need:
Your Social Security card. It is important that you enter your Social Security Number correctly!
Your driver's license (if any)
Records of income earned in the year prior to when you will start school. If you are a dependent student, you also may need records of your parents’ income. Needed documentation may include:
You may also need:
If you do not have this information available, you may begin the FAFSA process and save the application until such time as you obtain the required information. Remember that you want to complete this information as quickly as possible to ensure timely receipt of your award package.
Step 3: Sign and Submit the FAFSA - Once you have completed all of the information and you have reviewed it for accuracy, you are ready to sign your FAFSA. If applicable, your parent may also be required to sign the FAFSA. If you do not sign the FAFSA, the application will not be considered complete and you will not be able to submit it.
Step 4: Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) – You will receive your SAR shortly after submitting your FAFSA electronically. Follow the instructions on the SAR to make corrections or updates. If you need assistance with your SAR, contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID.
Step 5: Complete the verification process – Your FAFSA may be selected for data verification. This verification must be completed before a final award letter can be issued to you. If you are selected, your tuition planner will contact you with instructions regarding the documentation that you will need to complete the process. Generally students need to provide signed copies of the tax documentation used to complete the FAFSA, a completed and signed verification worksheet and any other documentation that may be needed to verify the information that you completed on the FAFSA.
Step 6: Review your award letter – Once we receive the final results of your FAFSA submission, our financial aid staff will send you an award letter outlining the financial aid for which you qualify for the current academic year. Please review this letter and contact the Financial Aid office with any questions at 1.800.345.2562.
This letter will provide you with information regarding the types of Federal Aid available to you as determined by your FAFSA including:
Additional Funding – If Additional funding is requested, the following loan options may be available to Post University Online Students:
Step 7: Sign your promissory note – If your financial aid award includes a Stafford Loan, and you choose to accept it, you will be required to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) concerning repayment of the loan. You will be able to sign the MPN online.
Step 8: Complete your entrance interview – Federal loan borrowers are required to complete an entrance interview. This can be done online at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action. Exit counseling is also required upon graduation or withdrawal.
Step 9: Release your current financial aid – If you are transferring from another University and were awarded or received financial aid during the current academic year, you will need to contact your Tuition Planner for instructions on how to cancel your aid at the other institution. For additional information, contact the Financial Aid office at 1.800.345.2562.

In order to remain eligible and continue to receive Federal funds you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward a certificate or degree. If you are receiving aid, Post University is required to measure your eligibility according to three criteria.
1) Your Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
You must achieve the required CGPA to remain eligible for aid. Post University has established the following policy:
| Undergraduate | |
| 0-30 credits earned | 1.50 minimum CGPA |
| 31-45 credits earned | 1.60 minimum CGPA |
| 46-60 credits earned | 1.70 minimum CGPA |
| 61-75 credits earned | 1.80 minimum CGPA |
| 76-90+ | 2.00 minimum CGPA |
| Graduate | |
| 0-52 credits earned | 3.0 minimum CGPA |
2) The Number of Credits You Have Taken
To remain eligible for aid, you must successfully complete the credits required for your certificate or degree within 150% of the standard length of your academic program. Example: A full-time student (12 credits/payment period) must earn a minimum of 8 of his or her attempted credits per term.
3) Your Rate of Progress
Full- and part-time students must successfully complete a minimum of 67% of all credits they attempt (that is, courses in which you remain enrolled past the add/drop deadline).
In addition, please note that schedule changes may delay graduation and affect your eligibility for financial aid.
