Connia Nelson is Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Verizon Telecom and Business, and a Post University Trustee
Prior to her current assignment, Nelson was senior vice president of human resources for Verizon’s consumer group.
In addition, Ms. Nelson was vice president of human resources for the GTE Corporation and was later named human resources vice president for the network services and wholesale markets organizations.
Ms. Nelson also serves on the National Campaign Council for the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro, N.C., has been a participant in the National Urban League's Black Executive Exchange program, and serves as the co-chair of the African-American Leadership Network for Verizon.
Nelson is a recipient of the Eagle Leadership Award, presented by the National Eagle Leadership Institute and CareerFocus Magazine. She was also recently named one of the "Most Influential African Americans in Business" by Profiles in Diversity Journal.
A native of Indiana, Nelson holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University and a master's degree in organization management from Dallas Baptist University.
