Bachelor of Science in Equine Business Management

Overview

Only horse-lovers need apply for this degree program. In today's competitive horse industry, those who wish to be successful need to master as many skills as possible. That's why Post University's Equine Business Management degree program combines equine course work with business administration, leadership and self-awareness courses. The program also offers students many opportunities to customize their degree program according to personal interests and skills. This combination provides students with the breadth and depth of skills required to successfully pursue a career in the care and management of horses, the efficient running of an equine-related business, and/or a host of other specialties.

Equine courses include all aspects of proper horse care and stable management; anatomy and nutrition; ethical treatment of horses; up-to-date veterinary information; instructor training; and hands-on experience. Courses required as part of Post University's Interdisciplinary Leadership Core provide a solid grounding in business management.

Pam Lyon

Post University Equine Business Management major Pam Lyon is the winner of a 2010 Business Women’s Forum scholarship.

Students may pursue such careers as equine law, equine marketing, equine sport management, equine massage, equine veterinary assistant, riding instructors (certified through BHS or CHA) or therapeutic riding instructors (certified through NARHA at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center), or a host of other specialties in the very diverse horse industry.
