WATERBURY, Conn. (July 13, 2009) -- Post University is proud to announce that it will be awarded a silver Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Innovation Prize for its new Online MBA Degree Program.  The CQIA Innovation Prize is presented to organizations that have introduced a new product, new service or new process within the state of Connecticut in the past five years, and provided numerical results to demonstrate the benefits to its business and customers.

The 22-year old Connecticut Quality Improvement Award is America’s first state level quality award that uses the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence criteria.

In 2007, Post University launched the first completely online MBA program in the state.  The University offers the program to students from 45 states and five countries from its main campus in Waterbury.  In May, the university honored its first class of MBA graduates as they “walked” in commencement.

“Post University’s accelerated online MBA degree program focuses on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship for the purpose of helping business professionals develop new wealth for their organizations,” said Frank Mulgrew, President of Post University Online.  “Not only are the courses innovative, but so is our delivery system.  Students are provided in-depth and highly interactive instruction, academic support and advising, admissions, financial aid, registering, and billing completely online and over the phone.”

The program is specifically designed to meet the needs of adults who are looking to advance their careers while juggling work, family and other commitments.  Adults can complete their course work at a place and time that’s convenient for them while making an immediate positive impact on their organizations, or by thinking through and implementing a new venture.

“Being selected to receive a Silver Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Innovation Prize is proof positive that Post University is a new generation higher education institution focused on innovation as an engine for affordable growth,” said Mulgrew.  “Since launching Post University Online in 1996, we have experienced exponential growth, especially in the past four years as we’ve refined our delivery system, and responded to the increasing demand for a quality, accredited, highly interactive, flexible and convenient way for adults to earn their degrees.”

Mulgrew will accept the award at the 22nd Annual Conference on Quality and Innovation on Oct. 23, 2009 at Water’s Edge Resort and Conference Center in Westbrook.
