WATERBURY, CONN. (April, 14, 2009) – In an effort to make college more affordable for area families, Post University is proud to announce that it will offer up to $4,000 in additional scholarship funds to students from Litchfield and New Haven counties.
The funds will be made available to new freshman students who choose to enroll in Post University’s undergraduate program at its Waterbury campus. This is an extension of a program that has offered a $4,000 scholarship to students from Waterbury who have been accepted and chosen to attend Post University.
“We’ve always worked hard to offer financial aid packages that make Post University affordable to everyone, and reduce a family’s out-of-pocket expenses,” said Post University President Dr. Kenneth Zirkle. “With this additional scholarship money, we are making it possible for more students in our region to get the education they need to reach their career goals.”
Under this new program, students from Litchfield and New Haven counties who attend Post University will be eligible to receive up to $4,000 a year provided they continue to make satisfactory academic progress. This is in addition to any federal financial aid or scholarships for which they may already have qualified. The scholarships will be available to students from the more than 60 high schools in the two counties.
“We look forward to welcoming more local students to our campus in September,” said Dr. Zirkle. “We know that by helping students now, we will all benefit from the valuable contributions they will make to their careers and communities in the future.”
