Post University offers online Master of Education Degree

WATERBURY, Conn. (September 18, 2009) - Post University is proud to announce that beginning in October, it will offer an online Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree program through Post University Online.

Post University's Master of Education meets the growing need for creative, innovative educators who can rise to the challenges and opportunities of today's and tomorrow's education environments.  The program provides a flexible, convenient way for working professionals to earn their M.Ed. in as little as 14 months.  This non-licensure program includes two areas of concentration: Teaching & Learning, and Instructional Design & Technology.  The curricula for both concentrations include a unique futures thread that focuses on innovation and creativity to help M.Ed. students shape the future of education.

"I'm excited that we've been able to create a program that's relevant to a variety of professionals including licensed teachers, online educators, corporate trainers, and others who want to enhance their education skills," said Dr. Jane Bailey, Post University Master of Education Academic Program Manager.  "Our students will engage in coursework that emphasizes future education trends, including research-based strategies and topics, such as brain and learning theory, artificial intelligence, gaming and edutainment."

Students also will benefit from input from today's thought-leaders, such as Dennis Bushnell, Chief Scientist and Futurist at NASA Langley Research Center; David Snead, Ph.D., Superintendent of Waterbury Public Schools; and  Margaret Honey, Ph.D., President & CEO of New York Hall of Science, all of whom sit on the university's master of education advisory council.

"Not only is the future focus of our program unique, but so is our delivery system," said Francis Mulgrew, President of Post University Online.  "We will use cutting-edge technology and online teaching methods to encourage the application of leading edge ideas to real-world education issues and opportunities."
