Washington D.C. Accounting Requirements Requirements to Sit for the Washington, D.C. CPA Exam There are a few basic requirements that you must meet in order to qualify to sit for the Washington, D.C. CPA Exam. First you must have earned at least a Baccalaureate degree with at least 24 semester hours of accounting, auditing, and/or federal taxation coursework, and 3 semester hours of business law. Washington, D.C. does require that its CPA candidates be at least 18 years of age, however, they don't require U.S. citizenship or district residency. Washington D.C. Board of Accountacy.
