Zurlo is teaching to support her students so they will be a success once they graduate. As a resident of Waterbury, Zurlo is able to relate to all students and help them with their studies as well as other issues outside of school.
Professional and community activities
Zurlo works closely with Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries and includes her students, who donate food and time, merging college courses with community involvement.
Kathryn’s love of writing poetry and fiction is only rivaled by her love of cooking. Zurlo enjoys preparing exciting new dishes as well as traditional Italian fare. She is no slouch at baking, either, making sure her family and friends’ sweet tooths are always satisfied. Kathryn is the mother of four curious cats, two of which were rescued from homelessness. She particularly loves to curl up on her couch with a hot cup of tea, a couple of her kitties, and an obscure novel.
