Academic Background

University of Connecticut, MBA with a Concentration in Management
University of Connecticut, BS in Finance

Teaching Background

Melissa began teaching at Post University (then Teikyo Post University) in 2000 as an adjunct faculty member.  Over the past twelve years, she has taught courses including Principles of Management, Business Policy Seminar, Organizational Behavior and First Year Foundations.

Professional Background

Melissa spent ten years working in the field of Finance, starting her career at GE Capital as a financial analyst.  She also worked for Greenwich Capital, Yankee Energy and MacDermid, Inc.  Melissa has had the privilege of working with the Post student body for over a decade.  At Post, Melissa served as an Associate Dean for four years and the Director of the Post University Learning Center from 2006 to 2012.   

Awards

Melissa is proud to be the recipient of the Post University Employee of the Year award in 2006.  

Personal Background

Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, including her son, Sasha, and nine year old dog, Asia.  She volunteers at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo and is passionate about wildlife and loves to travel.  Her travels have included adventures to many interesting places, including Kenya, China, Fiji, Ecuador, Belize, Panama, Costa Rica, Brazil, Australia, Venezuela, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, and Russia.
