Biography

Academic Background:

M.S., Taxation; University of New Haven
B.S., Financial Accounting, Cum Laude; University of New Haven

Teaching Background:

Professor Taddei is currently an Associate Professor of Accounting at Post University and a Part-time Lecturer at Housatonic Community College. Previously, she was an adjunct instructor at Sacred Heart University and Albertus Magnus College.

Professional Background:

Professor Taddei is a Certified Public Accountant and has been a member of the accounting profession for 25 years.  Before transitioning to education, the majority of her professional career was spent with the Corporate Office of United Technologies Corporation in Hartford, CT as Manager, International Tax Compliance.  In this capacity, she managed all aspects of the U.S. income tax compliance requirements with respect to the international tax implications of a Fortune 100 multinational corporation.  During her time at UTC, Professor Taddei received two UTC Distinguished Performance Awards and was appointed to UTC’s Diversity Council.

Professor Taddei began her professional career in public accounting with Blum, Shapiro & Company in West Hartford, CT where she began her career specialization in tax and completed all requirements to obtain licensure as a Certified Public Accountant. 

Professor Taddei is an active member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA).  She currently serves on the Board of Directors and served from 2008 ~ 2010 as the Educator’s representative to the Advisory Council.  In addition, she is currently a member of the Federal Income Taxation Committee, Educator’s Interest Group and Community College Advisory Council.   Previously, she served as Chairperson of the Educator’s Interest Group from 2008 ~ 2010 and hosted the 2006 Connecticut Accounting Forum for Educators at Post University. 

Teaching Philosophy:

Education is a collaboration between teacher, student and fellow student. When these individuals challenge themselves and each other, both within and outside of the classroom, an optimal educational experience is achieved.
