Academic Background:

Teaching Background:

Dr. Mancini is a Mathematics Professor at Post University. Before coming to Post University she taught mathematics and science to grades seven through twelve.Β  While at Seymour High School, Seymour, CT she was the Chairperson of the Mathematics and Science Department.

Professional Background:

Born in Connecticut, Dr. Mancini received her early education there. After college she taught in private schools in Illinois. Upon returning to Connecticut, she taught in the Connecticut public school system. At the present time, Dr. Mancini is a Professor of Mathematics at Post University, Waterbury, CT. Her teaching experience includes students of all ability levels. Dr. Mancini holds Connecticut State Certification in Administration and Supervision Β in Mathematics for grades seven though twelve, in Chemistry for grades seven though twelve, and in General Science for grades seven though twelve.

While teaching in the Connecticut public school system, Dr. Mancini was nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching. She was a participant in the PIMMS (Project to Increase Mastery of Mathematics and Science) Fellowship Program at Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT. As a PIMMS FELLOW, she was involved in the evaluation of the mathematics curriculum for various regional public school districts in Connecticut.

Teaching Philosophy:

Dr. Mancini believes every student who comes into one of her classes can learn mathematics.

Research/Academic Interests:

One of Dr. Mancini's interests has been mathematics anxiety. Dr. Mancini is also interested in computers. She has taught basic computer classes to grades one through eight in a private school and has also taught basic computer classes on the college level. She often acts as a consultant on computer issues.
