Biography

Academic Background:

• PhD, Higher Education Leadership, Florida Atlantic University, 2012 completion
• JD, Law Degree, University of Miami, FL
• BA, Law and Society, University of California, Santa Barbara
• Ph.D. focus/Lawyers as Senior Level Community College Leaders

Teaching Background:

Prior to his work as a Legal Studies Professor at Post University, Thomas Nguyen was a Paralegal Professor for the University of Miami, a Legal and Paralegal Professor for Miami Dade College, and a Full Legal Studies Professor with Kaplan University.. 

Professional Background:

Nguyen is a former Attorney and Paralegal in multiple areas of law.  He is a former Legal Studies Chair for Kaplan University, and Former Director of the ABA approved Law Center at Miami Dade College.  Nguyen is currently holds a Chair for Workforce, Natural, and Social Sciences for Miami Dade College.

Teaching Philosophy:

Learning should be “fun yet challenging,” says Nguyen.

Nguyen is currently finishing his dissertation for a PhD in Higher Ed. Leadership.  He is serves as a volunteer with his local church, and enjoys reading, movies, and sports.
