Professional Background:
Carolyn Shiffman served in executive management positions for over 20 years, working with for-profit and non-profit institutions. Coming from a diverse background of healthcare and higher education, Carolyn is known for her creativity, innovation and strategic planning and collaborative leadership. Throughout her career she has focused on helping others achieve success with their professional and personal goals. As a nurse educator she trained and provided educational workshops throughout the Midwest to healthcare professionals. As an executive for an educational consulting company, she provided coaching, training and mentoring to managers and higher education executives. Carolyn is currently the program director of the bachelor of Science in Health Science at Sacred Heart University.
Teaching Philosophy:
Carolyn’s teaching philosophy begins with the student. She feels it is her responsibility to provide the support, education and an environment that supports learning. Learning is a life long process that evolves through education and life experiences.
Personal Background:
Carolyn lives and works in Connecticut. She is married with two children.
