Biography


Academic Background:

  • Fordham Law School - Doctor of Juris Prudence, 1969
  • Fordham University - Master of Business Finance, 1971
  • Notre Dame University – Bachelor of Business Adminisration/Finance, 1962

Teaching Background:

Dennis McLaughlin has served as an Adjunct Instructor in Post University’s Legal Studies department since 1990, teaching various law courses both on campus on online.  He previously was an Associate Adjunct Professor at Fordham University from 1971 through 1991, teaching undergraduate level law courses

Teaching Philosophy:

McLaughlin’s philosophy for teaching is to encourage the student to study the law and simultaneously maintain a sense of humor in its application. 

Professional Background:

McLaughlin maintained a New York law practice specializing in Domestic Relations and Criminal work from 1970 to 1991.  He retired from the practice of law in 1991.

Professional and Community Activities:

Since his retirement, McLaughlin continues his interest in the law and feels he can give back to the community through volunteer work in the Connecticut prison system.   Presently, he is working on a thesis reflecting the spiritual transitions in prison life. 

Awards

Certificate of Merit awarded for successfully teaching at Post University for five years.
