Teaching Philosophy:

“I believe education to be one of the most important assets an individual can posses.  It enables us to be receptive to our surroundings and to challenge the status quo.  When education is earned and channeled properly a person can reach beyond a world ever imagined. 

I have earned my education and I would like to give back.  I would like to bestow my knowledge and personal experience on eager students.  I would welcome any questions or challenges a student would have.  That makes teaching all the worthwhile.

My teaching philosophy centers on the students being my number one priority. In the online environment, the instructor must maintain an active presence, be available to his/her students to answer any questions, comments and/or concerns, and to convey his/her knowledge and experience to supplement the material not learned in the textbook. A rapid response time to email inquiries, assignment feedback and quality /substantive posts to the discussion is essential to online student success.

As a Detective and master’s educated individual, I will bring a sense of real-world application to my class and ensure that my students’ inquiries are addressed. In addition to conveying the material for the class, participating in interactive chat sessions and  maintaining an active presence on the discussion boards, I will be certain to provide bi-weekly announcements, maintain e-mail communication and discuss students’ concerns via telephone, in order to ensure that my students needs are met in a timely fashion”

Personal Background:

In his spare time from law enforcement and teaching duties, Professor Conroy enjoys time with his family and friends. He is an avid skier and basketball coach.
