Professional Background:

Dr. Menon has over twenty years of diverse supply chain, business systems, processes, and technical/engineering experience coupled with graduate engineering and business education. Emphasis in recent years has been on project management. Extensive experience in exceeding business goals by leveraging technology, process realignment, vendor management, and cost optimization. He has very broad based experienced in business process reengineering and managing operational and organizational change using six sigma techniques.

Dr. Menon spent five years at North Carolina Division of Environment as a regional engineer, which he terms as his true ‘green’ years. Initial five years of his career was spent in operations management in the petroleum industry on offshore oil drilling rigs.

He currently works as a Divisional Project Manager for the Global Agriculture and Turf Division of John Deere where he manages many global initiatives.

Teaching Philosophy:

Dr. Menon’s teaching philosophy is based on attitudes and individual values.  Despite all the challenges, difficulties, and intrigue, teaching remains an offering.  If a love of learning is instilled in learners then education becomes an integral part of who they are and what they can accomplish.  Providing an environment that encourages collaboration and is student centered facilitates sharing and learning from each other. Teaching and learning are critical to our individual and collective endurance and to the quality of our lives. Life’s great journey is one of self-discovery and self-reflection. Keep the curiosity alive!

Personal Background:

Dr. Menon enjoys basketball, theater, and teaching. He lives in Cary, NC with his 12-year-old son and wife, an addiction and domestic violence counselor, his 12-year-old son and their 9-month-old golden retriever, Rex.
