Professor Flebotte has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience.¬† He helped create one of the first fugitive apprehension teams in 1988.¬† He went on in his career to obtain the rank of Lieutenant and worked in law enforcement on both local and federal levels.¬† Professor Flebotte began teaching at the police academy in 1989 and in 1993 became an instructor-trainer for firearms and use-of-force issues.¬† He has trained law enforcement officers both on a state and federal level and continues teaching law enforcement personnel for local municipalities and federal law enforcement.¬† Professor Flebotte left law enforcement to actively pursue an academic career in criminal justice. ¬†He is currently pursuing his Ph. D. from Northcentral University.¬† His goal is to continue to teach criminal justice at the academia level with the same passion he had throughout his career.
Professor Flebotte believes in preparing today‚Äôs students with firsthand knowledge and personal experiences to guide their learning.¬† He is a proponent of the act of ‚Äúdoing‚ÄĚ in order to better a student‚Äôs learning environment.¬† With a hands-on approach, students will achieve a dynamic learning experience.
Professor Flebotte is interested in researching the correlation between training and use-of-force issues involving police officers.
