Hear what students say about their experience at Post University
When I accepted a position within my area of the government, I knew that any kind of background in accounting was going to be very important in providing opportunities for advancement. When I found the Forensic Accounting program at Post, I was really interested. It related to my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Forensic Accounting programs aren't that common, so Post's program really caught my attention. I also was working about 60 hours a week at a full-time and a part-time job, and I knew with online I could do it all. The Post admissions counselor did a great job and really helped me get through the process. I'm now working with her to get enrolled in the MBA program at Post. It was really by luck that I found Post University. Now that I've gone through the classes, I decided to choose Post again for my MBA. The online classes are really challenging – just as challenging as the traditional on-campus classes I've taken as an undergraduate.
Working full-time and going to school full-time requires excellent time management skills, self discipline, and sacrifice. In order to advance my career within my area of the public sector, it was imperative that I obtain an Accounting background. Coincidentally, I was promoted just as I finished up my Forensic Accounting Certificate. I proudly display my certificate alongside my Bachelor of Science degree in my new office as a way to remind myself how I got to where I am today and to show me how to get to where I want to go. I've worked so hard all my life and have learned many valuable skills from so many different places: my parents, the teachers, professors, professional trainers, religious leaders, and mentors I've had over the years have all contributed to what I have accomplished. As I continue my efforts to advance upward, I am confident that I'll see a major return on my investment at Post.
I think time management skills. In the work world right now, everybody's trying to cut back and nobody wants to pay the extra money for overtime. So, you really have to find a way to get everything done in the time you have. I had to use self discipline and develop even more advanced time management skills to continue working 60 hours a week while earning A's in my classes. These are the kinds of skills that can be applied in the professional arena.
I really had to use any extra time I had and apply it to online courses. I would use the other half hour of my lunch break to work on my online classes. Anytime I had to work on school, that's what I did. You do whatever you have to do to get the job done.
Post University's instruction format was just as challenging, rewarding and valuable as my in-class university experience. I know some people who work full time think it's not possible to do this. In this kind of format, you can log in and go to class anytime you want. You can make time for it.
The biggest challenge was the limitations on time. I had to really be dedicated to earn the A. But even though the work was challenging, I found it very rewarding. Besides, anytime you overcome a challenge, you're more confident in your ability to overcome even greater challenges.
I'm going to enroll in the Post University MBA program in order to expand my opportunities for advancement. My ultimate goal would be to run for a public office someday and end my career as a college professor. My ambition is to make a positive difference in the world. I believe that teachers make the most positive difference because they inspire others to reach their true potential.
I already have recommended it. I really believe that Post is the hidden treasure of academic America. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I enrolled. I didn't know if it would be as challenging as in-class courses. The professors really make you earn your grade. If you want an A, you will have to work for it.
I think I'm very fortunate to have found Post. Before I found Post, I didn't think it was possible for me to go to college and work full-time, and now I'm going to get my MBA. I would love to see all of my friends reach their dreams. I will recommend Post because it offers a wide selection of online degree programs, excellent staff, great professors that will give them the opportunity to earn a degree while working full-time.
