Setting Up Your Email Account
At the start of every class module, the ICT Office will establish new user accounts on the Exchange Server for (day students only) students.
These accounts are usually set up in a standard convention of “First Initial Last Name” @ Post.edu. (example: DTrump@post.edu)
The accounts are active and valid for the length of a student, staff member, or faculty member’s tenure at Post University. Due to storage limitations, accounts cannot be kept for “life” and are deleted upon termination or, in the case of Faculty/Adjunct Faculty members, the semester following the last course taught.
Read the instructions below carefully and contact the ICT office if you have any questions.

Instructions
An account has been set up for you on the Post University Local Area Network (LAN), which provides access to the Internet and E-mail.
The things you need to know to access your account now are:
- User Name: (In Most Cases = First Initial Last Name i.e. DTrump. In the event of duplicates we may use the First Initial Middle Initial Last Name) * please note you do not need @post.edu at the end of your username.
- Password: Created By ICT (Call or stop by)
User Name - This is the name of your Windows server account and your E-Mail account and must be used to log on to the computer network. In most instances, the user name is the first letter of your first name followed by your last name; however, check carefully, as it may be different. (It is most important for Windows to see each user as a unique entity; so in the case of duplicates we used either your middle initial or the second letter of your first name to distinguish you from another user.)
Password - YOU MUST CHANGE THIS IMMEDIATELY! – A temporary password will be setup for each account, but will need to be changed as soon as possible. You can change your password multiple ways, so please make this a priority. Also note that passwords are case sensitive!
* If you make several attempts to logon with an incorrect password, you will be locked out of your account and will have to come to ICT to have your access restored. Also, if you forget your password you will need to contact ICT.
