State Approvals

Post University is required to seek approval to offer distance education (online) programs in most states in the country. Please select your state's contact information from the State By State Directory to get more information on your state’s regulatory requirements.

The following states require additional information. Please check to see if your home state is listed below with additional regulatory information:

Minnesota: Post University is registered as a Private Institution with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to sections 136A.61 to 136A.71. Registration is not an endorsement of the institution. Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions.”

Arkansas: Post University is currently unable to enroll Arkansas students in the following online degree programs: A.S. in Criminal Justice, A.S. in Marketing, B.S. in International Business Administration and the following graduate certificates: Corporate Innovation, Alcohol & Drug Counseling, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Leadership, Marketing, Online Teaching, Performance Management and Professional Counseling. During the Admissions process, your Admissions Counselor will advise you on meeting the degree program requirements in your state. Due to state regulations, Post University is currently not enrolling Arkansas students in any other programs at this time. We are working with your home state to comply with their regulations, and hope to be able to enroll students from Arkansas in all of our programs by March 2013. In the meantime, you may want to contact the Arkansas Department of Education and your local representatives about the state’s regulations concerning access to online learning options for Arkansas residents. All Arkansas students enrolled in a B.S. program are required to complete 120 semester credit hours of which 40 credit hours must be upper-level (300/400) courses. At least, 30 semester credit hours must be in the students major with at least 20 semester credit hours of them being upper-level. North Carolina: Due to state regulations, Post University cannot currently enroll students in North Carolina for the following programs: A.S. Early Childhood Education, B.S. Child Studies, B.S. Human Services, B.S. Sport Management and M.S. Human Services. We are working with state regulators to gain approval to enroll residents of North Carolina in these programs as soon as possible. If you are interested in any other Post University degree or certificate program, you may apply for admissions by contacting our Admissions Office at 800.345.2562.

Maryland: Due to state regulations, Post University offers Maryland residents an amended refund policy. Please contact financial aid at 800.345.2562 for more information regarding Maryland’s refund policy.

Washington State: Post University is authorized by the Washington Student Achievement Council and meets the requirement and minimum educational standards established for degree-granting institutions under the Degree-Granting Institutions Act. This authorization is subject to periodic review and authorizes Post University to offer field placement components for specific degree programs. The Council may be contacted for a list of currently authorized programs. Authorization by the Council does not carry with it an endorsement by the Council of the institution or its programs.
